2. A polar bear's fur is not white. It is made of clear hollow tubes filled with air.
1. Polar bears are the longest and largest species of bear. Males can measure up to 10 feet (3 metres) when standing up on their hind legs
3. Polar bears clean themselves by rolling in the snow
5. They can swim at speeds up to 6 miles per hour. Their taxonomic name is "sea bear"
4. Though their brown and black counterparts hibernate, polar bears do not
6. Polar bears swim long distances without rest in search of food. However, that distance is increasing due to climate change.
